I recently read Michael Bloch's F.M. Alexander: the life of Frederick Matthias Alexander, Founder of the Alexander Technique, published by Little, Brown U.K., and enjoyed it so much that I bought multiple copies of it so that it would be available in the U.S. sooner. The book is 276 pages long, and is a fascinating account of Alexander's life and work. Michael Bloch is a professional biographer, and he uses his considerable skills to bring Alexander to life. I found it extremely informative and a pleasure to read.
